When did you join pedal? 2015
How long have you been riding and racing? I rode a ton before I got my drivers license. I’ve been riding seriously as an adult since 2011. I started racing in 2015
What is your absolute favorite road or trail to ride? The Triple Bypass West is great. It’s beautiful and you really feel you’ve gone somewhere since it’s not a loop. I also love Mountain Base road in Golden Gate canyon, going over High Drive and Witter Gulch in Evergreen and the usual suspects of deer creek, high grade, city view, and Foxton. It takes my breath away every time I ride though the south valley.
What piece of bike equipment/gear can you not live without? My Cannondale bikes are great. Even more important than the bikes is the great job everyone at pedal does to help keep me safely on the road with great products and service.
Favorite thing to do when you’re NOT riding your bike? With a wife, three kids and extended family in town, spending time with family ends up high on the priority list.
Favorite motivational quote/saying? “It never gets easier, you just go faster.” – Greg Lemond
Best race experience or highlight? The Boulder Stage Race in 2015 was great. It was a fun challenge to manage logistics, nutrition, and training load for a multi-day race. It was a totally different challenge than a single day race. This year my top highlight was being able to help make a difference at Rio Grande for David to get the win. He won with an incredible effort in the breakaway, but I feel the way Will and I raced also helped to improve his chances of success. I had never expected to really find a true “team” atmosphere in an amateur team but pedal RACING has it and it’s wonderful.
What are your goals for 2016? For myself I mostly enjoy hill climbs. I also really enjoy helping out other team members when/where I can.
