When did you join pedal? Just this past year and I’m glad I did.
How long have you been riding and racing? I bought my first road bike 2 1/2 years ago and I competed in my first race at the Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial April 6. That’s a whole different animal.
What is your absolute favorite road or trail to ride? Lookout Mountain or Deer Creek, up High Grade. They’re only my favorite because they’re difficult, but what a view once you get to the top.
What piece of bike equipment/gear can you not live without? I’m not much of a techie, but I do love my Garmin Edge. I’ve learned a lot about my pedaling from that tiny device. More than I thought I would. I bring it with me on all my rides. Later, when it’s uploaded on Strava (if it’s not on Strava, it doesn’t count) I go over all the metrics and compare to previous times. I’m always looking to improve.
Favorite thing to do when you’re NOT riding your bike? I’m working on my novel from a journal I wrote while traveling Europe for a month last year.

Best race experience or highlight? I signed up for KHMTT on a whim, while driving up to Estes Park. I wanted to push myself.
What are your goals for 2016? I want to set a PR on every organized ride I participate in this year: Santa Fe Century (first year doing this one, but want to keep it under 6 hours), Elephant Rock (aiming for 5 1/2 hours), Ride The Rockies (first year doing this one), Double Triple Bypass (first time doing Double Triple, but want to keep it under 7 1/2 hours) Mt. Evans Hill Climb (first year doing this one, but I want it under 3 hours), and Venus de Miles (aiming for 5 1/2 hours).
