KHMTT (aka Cherry Creek Time Trial Series) Registration is Now Open

It’s that time of year when the registrations begin to open for some of our favorite races.  The Karen Hornbostel Memorial Time Trial (aka Cherry Creek Time Trial Series) has just opened registration for this year’s race.  The KHMTT is hosted by the long-standing COBRAS Cycling team and is a favorite for those wanting to get out in the middle of the week and spin their legs.  Last season pedal RACING had a really good showing in this series and those of us who raced in it all learned a lot, had a great time and, for the most part, improved over the course.

This year the race has returned to it’s full distance (9.5 miles all within the Cherry Creek State Park) and looks to have 7 races running each Wednesday starting April 1st and running through May 20th (which is a make up date).  Please visit the race details page on the COBRAS’s Site for more information including categories, race packet pick-up, course map, description and rules.

Last year we tried to pick start times that were near each other so we could all come out and warm up together and cheer each other on – time permitting of course.  After you register for the series you will get an email asking you to pick your start time.  Last year they sent out the current list so you could see who had already picked a time and we all just tried to pick them together.   Most of us have already suggested that we try and schedule around 5:30-6pm start times.  There’s really not a “great” time as last year we had wind, rain, hail, and perfect weather at all times.  Just don’t be late for your start time – they just tack it on to your time (I learned that lesson the hard way)!  Also, if you’re feeling spry after the race you can join a few of us for a “cool down” ride around the park and through the dog park using the McNeil Shortcut – a “can’t miss” event.

See below for the registration announcement.
