When did you join pedal? 2016

How long have you been riding and racing? I’ve been mountain biking for about four years, and this will be my third year racing.

What have you done to add value for our sponsors recently? How did you do it? I fell in love with Pactimo last year when I got my team kit, and really loved wearing their cold weather gear on my fatbike all winter, so I’m representing as a Pactimo Brand Ambassador this year. Happy to get the word out about a Colorado company who makes great cycling apparel!!

What sponsor cant you live without, and what product or service of theirs do you like/need so much?pedal (http://www.pedalonline.com/). I seriously love riding for such a great shop. It’s so nice to walk into a shop that’s well-stocked and full of knowledgeable salespeople, and always feel welcomed. And special kudos to Bill, who does a ton to support our team behind the scenes! I’m also digging my Lazer Magma mountain bike helmet. All of my other helmets feel so uncomfortable now – don’t think I can go back!

Favorite motivational quote/saying? “What we have is based upon moment-to-moment choices of what we do. In each of those moments, we choose. We either take a risk and move toward what we want, or we play it safe and choose comfort. Most of the people, most of the time, choose comfort. In the end, people either have excuses or experiences; reasons or results; buts or brilliance. They either have what they wanted or they have a detailed list of all the rational reasons why not.” – Anonymous

Best race or ride experience or highlight? Probably the Breck 32 a couple of years ago. I was just getting into mountain biking at the time and had never really ridden that far, so just finishing was an accomplishment for me at the time. It was on my 36th birthday, and I was jazzed to get to do a big epic ride for my birthday – even though it was painful, it was everything I love about mountain biking. Enough climbing to really feel like a challenge, but all on a great course with a ton of singletrack and gorgeous mountain views.

What are your goals or what are you looking forward to in 2017? I just finished up my mountain bike season – I wanted to have fun, challenge myself, and see cool places, and I accomplished all of that so I’m happy! It was great to start the year out racing the Half Growler with a whole pack of pedal racers, and I finished out the season with a few of the Winter Park series races, which are always challenging and fun.
